Site Investigation
A commercial retail client approached The
Dragun Corporation to conduct a peer review after light non-aqueous
phase liquid (LNAPL) was identified on their property during a
routine environmental site assessment. The discovery of LNAPL was
problematic because there had never been significant quantities of
LNAPL stored or utilized at the site and previous environmental
investigation efforts had failed to determine the source of the
LNAPL. The Dragun Corporation was asked to assist the client.
The Result: The Dragun Corporation
characterized the site hydrogeology and delineated the extent of the
LNAPL and gasoline-impacted groundwater. The Dragun Corporation
designed a remediation system to prevent vapours from the impacted
groundwater and LNAPL from affecting employees at the site. The Dragun Corporation also conducted an
investigation into the source of the LNAPL and is assisting the
client with cost recovery efforts and negotiations with the
regulatory community.
