An Indication of Environmental Enforcement Activity?
In order to get a "pulse" of anticipated federal environmental
enforcement activity in the United States, we went to the source;
the Environmental Protection Agency. Specifically, we reviewed
the 2012 "Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance (OECA)
Final National Program Manager (NPM) Guidance." This nearly
90-page document can be found at
here.
Notably, more than 20 times in this document the word aggressively
was used. For example;
"
Aggressively go after pollution problems that make
a difference in communities."
"OECA
aggressively applies regulatory tools to
protect vulnerable communities..."
